ABOUT ASWINI COLLEGE OF NURSING
Excellence in Nursing Education
Aswini College of Nursing is one of the premier nursing institutes in Thrissur, the cultural capital of Kerala. The College was established in the year 2004. College consists of Undergraduate programme in Nursing. The College is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur (KUHS) and recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi (INC) and Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council, Thiruvananthapuram (KNMC). At present, the yearly sanctioned intake for the B Sc Nursing course is 80. The parent hospital and administrative control is Aswini Hospital Ltd. Aswini College of Nursing has been recognised as a Research Centre of NITTE (Deemed to be University) since 2021.

Mission
Aswini College of Nursing is a self financing educational institution dedicated exclusively to educating students by giving importance to acquiring deeper and wider theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, leadership qualities and innovative and critical thinking. The students are equipped to demonstrate excellence and compassion in Nursing through an educational approach immersed in innovation, technology, and student support.
Nursing encompasses the promotion of health, prevention of illness and care of physically and mentally ill and disabled people of all ages, in all health care settings and community settings. Advocacy, promotion of safe environment, research, participation in shaping health policy, in patient and health system management, and education are key nursing roles.
Today’s nursing practice has evolved through many changes influenced by advances in science & technology which has made health care more complex. The growing body of nursing research further challenges and stimulates nurses to acquire new knowledge & refine their critical thinking skills. Nursing education today aims to provide students a broad knowledge base which would help them provide expert and need-based care to clients with varying health problems. Nurses use clinical judgment in the provision of care to enable people to improve, maintain or recover health.
This college strives to educate and empower the students to become excellent nurses with up- to- date knowledge, expert clinical skills, adequate managerial skills and interpersonal skills. The overall development of the student is alsotaken care of throughout the training period.

State-of-the-art laboratories, including Nursing Foundations Lab, Advanced Nursing Lab, Nutrition Lab, Community Health Nursing Lab, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Lab, Child Health Nursing Lab, Pre-clinical Science Lab, and Computer Lab, are available with all necessary equipment as per Indian Nursing Council guidelines.

Structured Admission Process
Admissions are conducted transparently through LBS Centre for Science & Technology for merit seats and PNCMAK for management seats, adhering to standards set by INC and KUHS.

A well-stocked library with over 4,000 books, 25 journals, and access to e-journals ensures comprehensive learning resources for students.
Comfortable Hostel Facilities
The campus includes spacious hostel accommodations for nearly 200 students, with single rooms available for faculty members, ensuring a secure and comfortable stay.
Modern Canteen
A spacious canteen with a dining area that accommodates 125 people provides hygienic and nutritious meals for students and staff.
Seamless Transportation
Dedicated buses provide reliable and convenient transport for students, enhancing daily commutes between the college and clinical training facilities.
Clinical Training at Aswini Hospital
Hands-on clinical training is offered at Aswini Hospital Ltd, a 300-bed multispecialty hospital with modern amenities, alongside additional training at Amala Institute of Medical Sciences and Sacred Heart Hospital.
Community Health Exposure
Students gain invaluable field experience through training at Government Community Health Centres in Vellanikara and other primary health centers.
Playground and Recreation
Playgrounds for outdoor games and facilities for indoor games provide ample opportunities for physical activity and recreation.
Guest Faculty in Specialized Subjects
